Dr. Lamothe’s university studies and career path
Dre Valérie Lamothe is an exceptional veterinarian, especially in her approach with our patients and clients. She is very rigorous when it comes to patient care and well-being, which is why we are very proud to have her among us since January 2015.
Having practiced for the past 15 years, she is not only equipped with a great deal of knowledge, but also she is very passionate of the work she does. Great journeys lead her into becoming the practitioner she is today. She started by studying 1 year in Psychology at the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM). Then, she directed her interest towards animal health and did a Veterinarian Doctorate at the University of Montreal from 1995-1999. This wasn’t enough for her! She then did an internship (IPSAV) at the same school from 1999-2000. This helped her surpass and perfect various techniques, all the while being guided by some of the best specialists in the country.
From 2000-2003 she worked at la Clinique vétérinaire Grande-Allée in Mascouche. She went on maternity leave for her first child in 2003. When she returned in 2004, she accepted a job at l’Hôpital vétérinaire de la Seigneurie in Terrebonne, which she remained until 2015.
Other than her passion for animals, Valérie has a fulfilling life in many other areas, which makes her an accomplished, well-rounded person and veterinarian. She loves nature, and plants are how she expresses it. She adores reading, skiing and running, all activities that keep her balanced and calm. Needless to say, her all time favourite thing to do is spend time with her two boys.
All and all, Valérie is conscientious, applied, detailed, empathetic and dedicated to her field and the well-being of her patients. She is an accomplished, balanced and fulfilled woman in all aspects of her life.
We are very happy to have her among us!
